If we get it wrong, you get your money back
Every Honest Bill finding quotes the line on your bill it came from. If one of them turns out to be wrong, we refund you. No questions asked.
Draft, effective date set at launch
When you get a full refund
- A finding is wrong. For example, we flag a fee or charge that is not on your bill, quote the wrong amount, or misread what a line means. Tell us which finding, and we refund you. You do not have to prove anything or argue with anyone.
- The audit did not work. If you paid and the audit failed, could not read your bill, or never showed your results, we will run it again or refund you, whichever you prefer.
- You were charged twice. We refund the extra charge right away.
What a refund does not cover
Honest Bill tells you where your bill may be costing you money. Some savings depend on things we do not control, so these are not refund reasons on their own:
- Your utility says no when you ask for a change or credit.
- Your savings turn out smaller than our estimate. Estimates are our best read of your bill, not a promise.
- Your bill is already fair and we found little or nothing. That is good news, and your free re-run within 30 days still applies.
How to ask
Email support@myhonestbill.com within 30 days of your purchase. Include the email you paid with and, for a wrong finding, which one it was. We reply within two business days. Refunds go back to your original card through Stripe and usually show up in 5 to 10 business days.
Your free re-run
Every audit includes one free re-run within 30 days of your purchase, for your next bill from the same utility account, so you can see whether the changes came through. A bill from a different account or address is a new audit. To make that work, we keep your payment record and email, plus your utility’s name, bill date, and a scrambled account number so we can match the next bill to the same account. We never keep your bill or your results, so have your next bill ready when you come back.
